Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Preschool Substitute for children aged 1 to 5 years old!
We are seeking a new family member to join our small school. Our classrooms are small and our team works together to offer loving environments where each child is seen and understood. Our new family member will provide essential support to lead teachers and ensure a nurturing, engaging, and safe space for young learners. Your energy and passion will help foster curiosity, development, and joy in every child you serve. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in early childhood education while gaining valuable classroom experience across various age groups and educational settings.
Our goal is to find the right person who will be available to provide consistency for the children when needed and possibly join the school when a permanent position opens. Due to a desire to meet our current teacher's needs, we are hoping to find someone who can fill a full-time position for a week or two at a time.

Immediate need will include full-time 1 yo teacher for small class of 5 students between April 20 - May 1, 2026.
Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate curriculum development tailored to children from infancy through preschool age, including literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior management strategies and promoting a respectful, inclusive environment.
- Engage children in meaningful activities that promote childhood development, social skills, and early intervention strategies.
- Help with toddler care routines such as feeding, diapering, and nap times while maintaining high standards of child welfare and safety.
- Contribute to lesson planning and adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students, including those requiring special education support.
- Maintain clear communication with children, parents, and team members about daily activities, progress, and any behavioral or developmental concerns.
- Support classroom organization by managing supplies, preparing materials for lessons, and ensuring a clean and safe learning environment.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool settings, or private schools is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood education principles including childhood development theories and classroom management techniques.
- Familiarity with curriculum development for early learners across different age groups (1yo–5yo), including literacy education and standardized testing preparation.
- Experience supporting children with special needs or in early intervention programs is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and caregivers.
- Previous classroom experience involving lesson planning, tutoring, or teaching physical education enhances your fit for this role.
- Knowledge of Montessori and Reggio Amelia methods or experience working in either environment is advantageous.
