What are the responsibilities and job description for the Musical String Maker position at Gamut Music, Inc.?
Job Duties:
The job includes all procedures in producing gut musical strings, including processing the material, scraping, sorting, and twisting the strands into strings.
Other Job Duties:
Help manage inventory and clean and organize the workshop.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Because of the unusual nature of string making, specific skills will be taught on the job. However, successful applicants should have the following:
· An attention to detailed work.
· Basic math skills.
· Good craft skills.
· Good eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills.
· Knowledge of stringed musical instruments or an aptitude to learn about them.
· Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
· Experience with working with machines.
Working Conditions:
The job involves standing most of the day and doing some heavy lifting.
Credentials and Experience:
· High school diploma or GED.
· Some knowledge of stringed musical instruments.
Hours and pay:
Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Half-hour lunch, non-paid, and two 15-minute paid breaks
Benefits:
· Sick and safe time is earned in compliance with Minnesota statute 181.032 up to 48 hours per year.
· Vacation time is earned at the same rate as sick and safe time, up to 48 hours per year.
· Six paid holidays.
· End-of-year bonus.

We sell directly to individual musicians and maintain a network of distributors around the USA, Europe, and Japan.
