What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Associate - Video Game Lounge (MDW Airport) position at Gameway?
Gameway is searching for sales talent at Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW), and we need Sales Associates for the squad. If you do well in a fast-paced environment, enjoy meeting people and like chasing high scores, this is your chance to level up with a team that invests in you.
Your Quests (Responsibilities)
- Open & Close the Realm: Run the start-up and shutdown routines that get the lounge game-ready and set up the next shift for a win.
- Recruit New Players: Be the ultimate host. Greet hundreds of travelers walking by and show them how Gameway turns a layover into a level-up. Hit your sales objectives.
- Combo Every Transaction: Selling game time? Offer snacks and drinks. Selling snacks and drinks? Offer game time. Keep the combo going on every sale.
- Clear the Map: Keep every station free of food, trash and clutter. Dust and vacuum daily so the arena stays ready for the next player.
- Maintain the Gear: Keep consoles, TVs, controllers and headsets updated, clean and battle-ready. Report bugs and glitches to your Guild Master (manager).
- Stock the Potion Bar: Keep drinks and snacks restocked so players can refuel between matches.
Required Stats (Minimum Qualifications)
- 18 years old and able to complete alcohol awareness training certification
- Comfortable running the sales process on repeat, including greeting passengers as they walk past the lounge
- Able to learn and operate our Point-of-Sale (POS) system
- Extensive knowledge of PCs, PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and the newest, most popular games
- Able to pass a background check for the airport-required security badge
- Extremely reliable: you show up for every shift, on time
- Able to stand for long periods during your shift
Bonus XP (Preferred Qualifications)
- 1 year of sales experience
- 2 years of experience in retail, gaming, entertainment, food & beverage or hospitality
Loot & Spawn Times (Pay & Schedule)
- Pay: $18/hour
- Schedule: Open availability required, including early-morning shifts starting at 5:30 AM
