What are the responsibilities and job description for the Founding Growth & Community Lead position at Gametime Hero?
Founding Growth & Community Lead
Part-time (~20 hrs/week) · Contract-to-hire · Remote (Seattle or Bay Area a plus)
About us
We're AR & Brittany, the founders of Gametime Hero. We're lifelong players and organizers who got tired of duct-taping five different tools together just to run one community. So we built the all-in-one platform we always wanted: events, payments, rosters, leagues, websites, and leaderboards in a single modular product.
We’re early, lean, and growing fast — 11.5K users, ~$200K ARR, 3× YoY revenue growth. Now we need one person whose entire focus is bringing new organizers through the door.
The mission
Find and win new organizers — through community, partnerships, and word-of-mouth, not cold sales or ad spend. Organizer platforms grow when organizers bring other organizers and attendees become hosts. Your job is to build that engine.
What you'll do
- Activate our existing partner channels (pickleball, adult sports leagues, nonprofits, community groups) and turn them into a predictable pipeline.
- Build our Ambassador Program from scratch — recruit passionate organizers, equip them with referral links perks, and turn them into a growth engine.
- Grow the attendee → organizer loop (our north-star metric).
- Live where organizers are — leagues, clubs, courts, online groups — evangelize, have real conversations, and bring their feedback straight into product.
- Help the organizers you bring in succeed (onboarding retention) so growth compounds.
In your first 90 days
Ambassador program live, at least two partner channels activated, and your first cohort of new paying organizers onboarded and generating revenue.
Who you are
- You’ve personally run a league, club, team, or recurring events. You speak the language because you are the customer.
- A growth generalist who builds. Deep experience in at least one of: community, partnerships, content, or lifecycle. Scrappy across the rest.
- Founder energy. You thrive in ambiguity, move fast, and treat this like your own company.
- Natural communicator with genuine empathy — strong in DMs, 1:1s, and writing.
- Bonus: rooted in sports/recreation and based in Seattle or the Bay Area.
The setup
- ~20 hours/week to start as a contractor.
- $30–50/hr $200 per new paying organizer (who signs up for a full year).
- Clear path to full-time equity as we scale.
- Remote-friendly.
How to apply
Skip the formal cover letter. Send us:
- One community, league, or set of events you’ve personally run, and
- One scrappy idea for getting 10 new organizers onto Gametime Hero.
That’s it. Show us how you think.
Gametime Hero is built for every kind of community. We especially welcome organizers who’ve built where it’s needed most.
Salary : $30 - $50
