What are the responsibilities and job description for the Enrichment Class Sports Instructor/Coach for Kids position at GamePoint Athletics?
Overview
GamePoint Athletics is seeking to hire after-school sports instructors/coaches for 1-hour classes in various elementary schools in northern, VA -especially in Fairfax County. Each class we offer is held once a week typically anytime between the hours of 3:30 - 5:30 on any week day depending on the school. All classes last between 6-10 weeks. Our next round of classes begins in January. Most coaches begin coaching 1-2 classes a week to start. It's a great part-time job with potentially a flexible schedule.

Duties
- Lead and supervise children during after-school sports activities, including basketball, soccer, PE games, floor hockey, flag football, volleyball, and other sports and physical education programs.
- Prepare for classes be reading pre-written lesson plans that promote skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing rules and maintaining a safe environment during activities.
- Manage behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and firm behavior management techniques.
- Assist children in learning new skills
- Foster a welcoming and fun atmosphere that encourages participation and enjoyment for all children.
- Speak with parents and GamePoint management if necessary about chronic misbehaviors.
- Maintain and take care of GamePoint sports equipment during the time frame your classes take place.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage children effectively.
- Prior experience with children in some capacity as a volunteer or paid worker.
- Prior experience in some kind of sport - it can be very novice. Any experience is better than nothing.
- Beginner knowledge of a variety of sports is helpful - not required
- Ability to manage behavior positively and maintain consistent discipline during activities.
- Passion for promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles among children. This role provides an engaging environment where instructors can make a positive impact on children's lives through sports and physical education while developing their coaching skills further.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $42.00 - $45.00 per hour
