What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Marketing & Social Content Coordinator position at GamePlan Sports Events, a Division of Raccoon Media Group?
Are you the person who naturally finds the story in every room?
We’re looking for an energetic, creative and confident Event Marketing & Social Content Coordinator to help bring the GamePlan Sports Events portfolio to life.
GamePlan includes four distinctive sports-business communities: MatchIndoor, BrandMatch, Sports Venue Summit and E.L.I.T.E. Each connects influential people around meaningful conversations, commercial opportunities and memorable live experiences.
Your role will be to take people inside those communities.
You’ll create engaging social content, interview fascinating people, capture the energy of our events and become a recognizable, trusted personality across our brands. One day you might be filming behind the scenes at a major sports venue; the next, turning an industry insight into a compelling LinkedIn post or interviewing a senior executive for a short-form video.
This is much more than scheduling posts. We want someone who is curious about people, comfortable starting conversations and excited to build a career at the intersection of sport, events, content and community.
What you’ll do
- Help deliver marketing campaigns for four growing sports-business events.
- Create platform-specific content for LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok and other relevant channels.
- Become an authentic on-camera presence for the GamePlan brands.
- Interview attendees, partners, speakers and sports-industry leaders.
- Capture live event content, including short videos, photographs and behind-the-scenes moments.
- Turn industry developments and audience insights into timely, relevant stories.
- Write social posts, email copy, event updates and promotional content.
- Edit short-form videos and package content for maximum impact.
- Engage with our online communities and help conversations continue beyond each event.
- Track performance and use the results to make the next campaign stronger.
You might be a great fit if you
- Are energetic, friendly and naturally curious.
- Feel comfortable speaking with both senior executives and people attending their first industry event.
- Enjoy being on camera and can communicate with warmth and confidence.
- Understand that great social content should feel human—not like corporate advertising.
- Can recognize an interesting story or social-media moment as it happens.
- Write clearly and understand how tone changes between different audiences and platforms.
- Are organized enough to manage a content calendar but flexible enough to capture an unexpected opportunity.
- Are excited by sport, live events, business and the people who bring them together.
- Have examples of content you’ve created—even if they come from university, personal projects, volunteering or your own social channels.
You do not need to arrive with years of sports-industry experience or a huge personal following. We care more about your instincts, creativity, confidence, reliability and willingness to learn. What matters is that people enjoy talking to you—and that you know how to turn those conversations into content other people want to watch, read and share.
What you’ll gain
You’ll work closely with an experienced events and marketing team, meet leaders from across the sports industry and develop practical experience in content creation, event marketing, interviewing, community building and brand development.
You won’t be watching from the sidelines. You’ll help shape how these brands sound, feel and show up in the world.
