Duties

• Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
• Assist with food prep tasks such as slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations to meet food safety standards in production
• Follow safety procedures and food handling protocols to ensure a safe working environment
• Support menu planning efforts by preparing ingredients for upcoming meals or catering events
• Ensure all food is stored correctly and rotated according to safety guidelines
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to deliver timely service during busy periods and assist with serving when needed

Skills

• Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings with a strong understanding of kitchen operations
• Knowledge of dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus
• Familiarity with food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production
• Skilled in meal preparation, food handling, and maintaining high hygiene standards
• Excellent knife skills, slicing techniques, and attention to detail in food presentation
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality
• Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation to support a cohesive kitchen atmosphere
