Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) - Veterinary Dentistry Focus
$28-32 per hour
Location: Galway NY (Saratoga County)
Schedule: 4-Day Work Week (10-Hour Shifts)

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications
• Veterinary Dentistry: Perform high-quality digital dental radiographs, detailed periodontal charting, and thorough dental cleanings (scaling and polishing).
• Client Education: Teach clients about preventative home dental care, dental products, nutrition, parasite control, and post-operative home care.
• Collaboration & Adaptability: Bring a positive attitude to a dynamic environment where team members pitch inwherever needed.
• Licensure: Licensed technicians must be graduates of an AVMA accredited training school or program. They must be licensed with the state of New York in good standing and must complete all professional requirements to maintain their licensure.
Essential Job Functions
• Anesthesia & Surgery: Assist in surgery, place IV catheters, manage fluids, anesthesia induction and monitoring.
• General Nursing: Administer injections and oral medications, perform radiographs, and manage basic patient needs (pedicures, anal glands).
• Laboratory: Perform routine analyses including hematology, serology, blood chemistry, urinalysis, fecal samples, and bacteriological cultures.
• Pharmacy & Records: Fill prescriptions, enter services into computerized medical records, and maintain accurate controlled substance logs.
• Hospital Care: Clean and sterilize surgical instruments, maintain medical equipment, train new technicians, and provide cross-coverage as needed.
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements
• Experience: Knowledge in veterinary dentistry and solid baseline skills in general nursing, blood draws, IV catheters and anesthesia.
• Software: Basic computer literacy and comfortable typing skills required. Familiarity with Cornerstone software is a major plus!
• Competencies: Genuine compassion for animals (especially when stressed or ill), commitment to a positive work culture, and flexibility to work Saturdays.
Salary : $28 - $32
