What are the responsibilities and job description for the Math Interventionist P/T position at Galvin Middle School?
The Math Interventionist is responsible for supporting student achievement by providing direct small-group instruction to students not yet meeting grade-level expectations in math.
This is a part-time position of 12-20 hours per week, generally between the hours of 9:00 and 1:30.
This is an hourly position paid $26.00 per hour.
Duties:
- Provide small group direct instruction to students identified as eligible for math intervention both within and outside the regular classroom setting
- Assist with identifying students for placement in intervention groups
- Collect data and progress monitor student growth
- Maintain communication with classroom teachers regarding student needs, intervention strategies utilized, and student progress
- Collaborate with the district STEM Curriculum Coordinator and building administrators
Requirements:
- MA Licensure in appropriate area preferred
- Elementary math teaching experience preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Collaboration and communication skills
- Knowledge of basic learning and management strategies
