Duties and Responsibilities
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
- Generates and mails pre-trial court notices.
- Enters offender payment plan data into software collections database(s) and keep data current and up to date.
- Maintains a working knowledge of collection rules, regulations, policies and procedures, and maintains strict adherence to all applicable rules and regulations.
- Prints daily reports of delinquent cases and ensures telephone contact with defendant for payment.
- Prints and mails collection demand letters.
- Interviews defendants for eligibility for payment agreements and, if approved, inputs payment schedules.
- Answers telephone and greets visitors; provides information and assistance; directs to appropriate personnel.
- Processes returned mail.
- Interviews defendants on misdemeanor jail docket and sets up payment agreements.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Requires one year of experience customer service, office or administrative support or closely related experience.

Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.
The work is typically performed sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, bending, crouching, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects.
The work is typically performed in an office.
