Description
Performs accounting functions in support of department and county operations, including fixed assets, leases and grants.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitors capital projects; analyzes contract payments and retainage; monitors asset invoices payable for accuracy; prepares journal entries; reviews budget to actual balances for departments.
- Monitors capital asset funds; monitors additions, disposals and deletions; monitors depreciation.
- Prepares account analysis; journal entries; and reconciliations.
- Assists in the preparation of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor degree - accounting or related. Master’s degree substitutes for experience.
- 2 years' experience in accounting; government accounting preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; analytical techniques.
- Must pass Criminal Background Check.
- Must have valid Texas Driver's License.
