Role Description The Director of Food and Beverage is a full-time, on-site leadership role located in Galveston, TX, responsible for overseeing all food and beverage operations at Galveston Country Club. This role manages daily restaurant, bar, banquet, and event services to ensure consistent, high-quality member and guest experiences. Key responsibilities include leading and scheduling front-of-house and bar teams, collaborating with culinary leadership on menus and service standards, and ensuring that all dining areas are clean, safe, and well-presented. The Director will oversee budgeting, cost control, inventory, and vendor relationships to meet financial targets while maintaining quality. The role also involves developing service standards, training staff, handling member feedback, supporting special events and tournaments, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.
Qualifications
- Strong Food & Beverage and Food Service management skills, with experience overseeing restaurant, bar, and banquet operations.
- Proficiency in Culinary Skills and collaboration with kitchen leadership to align menu offerings with member expectations and club standards.
- Demonstrated commitment to Customer Satisfaction, including handling feedback, resolving service issues, and maintaining high service standards.
- Experience with Budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and inventory management in a hospitality or club environment.
- Prior leadership experience in a country club, resort, hotel, or upscale hospitality setting strongly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team-building abilities, with a hands-on approach to staff training and development.
- Knowledge of applicable health, safety, and alcohol service regulations, with a focus on compliance and risk management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on club events and member needs.
