Drama/Theatre Adjunct

Job Summary

Galveston College is an innovative public post-secondary institution, which is dedicated to student success and teaching and learning. Adjunct faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence and are primarily responsible for providing instruction in their assigned courses. Adjunct Faculty are also expected to demonstrate and maintain competence in each of the following areas throughout their employment at the College.

Minimum Education, Skills, and Abilities

• Master’s degree in Drama or Theater, or a master’s degree in a related field and 18 graduate hours in Drama/Theater;
• The aptitude to assist both new and returning students achieve their educational goals and objectives;
• Strong communication and organizational skills;     
• Must be prepared to work with students with a diverse range of back grounds, abilities and ages;  
• A dedication to excellence in teaching.

Preferred Education, Skills and Abilities:

• Previous teaching experience.

Responsibilities:

• The Drama/Theater instructor will develop and teach drama/theater courses, recruit students into the program, and provide assistance in coordination for the program.

Special Requirements

• Subject to a criminal background check prior to employment.
