What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Production Supervisor position at GALVAN INDUSTRIES INC?
The Production Foreman is responsible for leading employees, scheduling work activities, ensuring quality of workmanship, training and educating employees on safety guidelines, company policies, and production equipment. Responsible for productivity and quality management. Recommends equipment upgrades, staffing adjustments, process modifications. This position reports to the Production Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute production schedule
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
- Hold employees to Company Safety guidelines and procedures
- Train and coach new employees
- Is actively engaged in solving problems as they arise
- Maximize output throughout the department on all equipment, meeting or exceeding production goals
- Ensure that product being produced meets all quality standards
- Directs and supervises the work of multiple employees across multiple departments
- Ensure that all steps are being made to ensure shipping integrity and accuracy
- Establish and maintain an environment that promotes teamwork
- Works with Maintenance department to facilitate repair of equipment
- Ensures employees maintain a neat and orderly working environment
- Coordinates manpower requirements by increasing or decreasing personnel and overtime to meet changing conditions
- Recommends measures to improve safety, production methods and quality of product
- Develops and implements plans to motivate workers to achieve production goals
