About the Role
We are seeking an experienced associate attorney to join our growing Tampa practice group. This is a hands on role within a sophisticated and active litigation practice, offering the opportunity to work on a broad range of defense matters and develop depth across multiple areas of law. The Tampa group handles a diverse docket that includes defense litigation, first party property matters, transportation related litigation, general liability, premises liability, insurance defense and coverage work, regulatory and compliance related issues, and other complex civil disputes.
Responsibilities
• Handle a diverse caseload including first party property, insurance defense, transportation related matters, premises liability, general liability, and other civil litigation matters
• Represent regional and national clients, including insurers, commercial businesses, property owners, and other institutional clients
• Participate in all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, hearings, mediation, and trial preparation
• Work closely with partners on case strategy, early evaluation, and resolution planning
• Maintain direct communication with clients and contribute to efficient, cost effective case management
• Take ownership of assignments and play an active role in a growing and collaborative practice group
Qualifications
• Litigation experience in civil litigation, insurance defense, first party property, general liability, transportation, premises liability, commercial litigation, or related practice areas
• Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to manage responsibilities in a fast paced, team driven environment
• Interest in developing a broad and sophisticated litigation practice
Preferred Experience
• Deposition, hearing, or motion practice experience
• Background in defense litigation, first party property, insurance coverage, transportation, general liability, or other complex civil matters
• Experience working with insurers, commercial clients, or property related disputes
• Comfort with file ownership and client interaction
