Position Summary
The Field Supervisor – General Services is responsible for overseeing daily field operations for general service projects including building maintenance, civil work, and structural repairs. This role supervises field crews, ensures work is completed safely and efficiently, and supports estimating and project development for small to mid-size projects.
The Field Supervisor works closely with operations leadership, project managers, and customers to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to company quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Field Operations
- Oversee daily jobsite operations
- Plan and assign work to field crews
- Review drawings, scopes of work, and project specifications
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, and subcontractors
- Monitor project progress and adjust resources as needed
Estimating & Project Development
- Perform field walks and site assessments
- Assist with estimating projects typically ranging from $5,000 to $250,000
- Develop material takeoffs and labor estimates
- Coordinate vendor and subcontractor pricing
- Support proposal development and scope writing
- Identify additional work opportunities and value-added services
Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise field crews and subcontractors
- Provide direction and training to team members
- Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks
- Ensure company policies and procedures are followed
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce OSHA safety standards
- Ensure proper use of PPE
- Report incidents and near misses
- Maintain safe and organized job sites
Quality Control
- Inspect work to ensure quality standards are met
- Coordinate inspections with clients and inspectors
- Ensure work is completed according to plans and scope
- Prevent rework through proactive supervision
Scheduling & Productivity
- Track labor hours and productivity
- Maintain project schedules
- Coordinate with project managers and operations leadership
- Improve efficiency and field productivity
Material & Equipment Management
- Order and track project materials
- Manage company tools and equipment
- Minimize waste and control project costs
Communication & Reporting
- Provide daily updates to management
- Submit daily field reports
- Attend planning and scheduling meetings
- Maintain strong communication with customers
Qualifications
- 5 years experience in construction, mechanical service, or building maintenance
- 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Experience estimating small to mid-size projects preferred
- Ability to read plans, drawings, and scopes of work
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Valid driver's license
- OSHA 30 preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
