Gallery Department is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to oversee and assist in managing our quality control process, with a strong focus on production. This role ensures the timely and cost-effective manufacturing of products while upholding the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring production progress, enforcing quality control measures, and collaborating with various departments to align production and delivery processes.

This position requires excellent communication and coordination skills to work closely with the development, operations, and e-commerce teams. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality assurance are essential. The successful candidate must thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and demonstrate the ability to make informed decisions quickly.


Quality Control Specialist

Responsibilities:

·        Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and manufacturers to ensure seamless communication and coordination throughout the production process.

·        Monitor production progress to ensure adherence to project schedules and deliverables.

·        Maintain and track shipping and delivery dates, providing necessary shipping documents to logistics teams and courier companies.

·        Conduct quality control checks at various production stages to uphold company standards and meet customer expectations.

·        Perform daily visits to vendors to ensure products meet quality standards.

·        Visit off-site 3PL locations for quality control inspections as required.

·        Identify and resolve production issues, including defects, delays, and quality concerns, and report them to superiors with appropriate solutions.

·        Ensure alignment of all production processes with company quality standards, from raw materials to finished goods.

·        Document and report quality control findings, recommending corrective actions as needed.

·        Prepare detailed reports and updates for pre-production meetings and communicate effectively with all relevant stakeholders.

·        Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines within the production environment.

·        Perform final inspections on finished goods to confirm adherence to specifications before shipment.

·        Maintain an organized tracking system for defects, rework, and corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement.

·        Assess situations and make prompt, informed decisions regarding production and quality control matters.

·        Adapt work schedule flexibility to accommodate production demands and factory visits as needed.

·        Travel locally to various factories in Los Angeles throughout the day for production oversight and quality inspections.

·        Apply strong knowledge of garment construction, sewing techniques, fabric performance, garment dye, screen prints, and embroideries to assess and ensure product quality.

·        Collaborate closely with Technical and Production teams, providing recommendations for best-in-class production practices.

·        Exhibit excellent organizational and communication skills to liaise effectively between production teams, vendors, and management.


Required Skills/Abilities: 

·        Strong knowledge of garment construction, quality standards, specifications, measurements, sewing, and various machines.

·        Strong analytical and numerical skills to assess production metrics and quality data.

·        Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

·        Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with management and cross-functional teams.

·        Detail-oriented with a keen eye for quality and precision in garment production.

·        Capability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.

·        Adept at identifying quality issues and implementing effective solutions.

·        Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

·        Proficiency in verbal and written communication skills.

·        Personality suited for enforcing the company's quality standards and expectations with factories while maintaining a professional demeanor.

·        Must sign an NDA.


Physical Requirements 

·        Comfortable standing for long periods of time and being physically mobile.

·        Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required.



Qualifications:

·        Minimum of 5 year’s experience in production, manufacturing, or quality control, preferably in the fashion industry.

  • Bachelor’s degree in fashion, or related field or equivalent knowledge/experience if preferred

·        Must have reliable transportation, a valid CA driver’s license, and proof of insurance.

·        Bilingual in Spanish and English
