What are the responsibilities and job description for the Design Studio Assistant & Client Liaison position at Galleria Tile?
About Us
Galleria Tile is a small, family-run tile showroom and design studio that’s been part of San Francisco’s Design District for over 30 years. We work with interior designers, architects, contractors, and homeowners to bring spaces to life — one beautiful material at a time. Our showroom is warm, creative, and full of energy (and samples!). We take pride in what we do, and we love helping our clients find the perfect tile for their vision.
About the Role
We’re looking for someone friendly, organized, and curious about design to join our team as a Design Studio & Showroom Assistant. This is a great role for someone who loves materials, enjoys meeting designers, and wants to learn the ins and outs of the design industry. You’ll be helping us keep the showroom running smoothly — organizing samples, styling displays, and assisting clients while they explore materials.
If you love design, have an eye for detail, and enjoy a hands-on creative environment, you’ll fit right in.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Keep our showroom displays and sample racks looking beautiful and organized
- Pull, label, and pack samples for designers and clients
- Help email out selection sheets and follow up on sample requests
- Greet and assist clients in the showroom — sometimes you’ll be the friendly distraction when we’re in appointments
- Request new samples and materials from our vendors
- Support with day-to-day showroom tasks to keep things running smoothly
You’re Someone Who
- Loves design, color, and creative spaces
- Is reliable, positive, and detail-oriented
- Enjoys being around people — clients, designers, vendors
- Can multitask and stay organized in a busy environment
- Has basic computer skills (email, PDFs, spreadsheets)
- Is eager to learn about tile, stone, and finishing materials — you’ll pick up a ton working here!
Why You’ll Love It Here
- You’ll learn a lot about design, materials, and how projects come together
- You’ll work directly with designers, contractors, and developers — great industry exposure
- Every day is different, and your work really makes a difference in how the showroom feels
- Small, close-knit team that values creativity, collaboration, and good energy
- Located in the heart of SF’s Design District
