2nd Shift Machine Operator (4 pm – 12:30 am)

A CNC Operator will play a key role in establishing production operations at Galleher’s new Lafayette facility. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC Machining equipment to produce metal components that meet precise dimensional and quality standards.

We’re seeking a 2nd Shift experienced operator who brings strong mechanical aptitude, pride in their craft, and a commitment to teamwork and safety. This role offers the opportunity to grow alongside a company with a long-standing reputation for excellence in the metal fabrication industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor machines to produce high-quality metal parts in accordance with prints and job specifications.


• Ensure parts meet all quality requirements. Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.


• Identify and troubleshoot production or equipment issues promptly.


• Complete accurate production and quality documentation.


• Conduct daily preventive maintenance and assist with tooling changes.


• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment consistent with company and OSHA standards.


• Collaborate with supervisors and fellow team members to establish best practices and support a strong workplace culture in our new facility.


• Operate other equipment or perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.


• Minimum 2 years of CNC or similar metal forming machinery.


• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.


• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders.


• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.


• Dependable, safety-conscious, and team-oriented.


• Forklift experience preferred.


• Physically able to lift up to 75 pounds and stand for extended periods.


• Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screening.


• Reliable transportation required.

Schedule

Full-time, 2nd Shift, Monday through Friday 4 pm – 12:30 am

(Opportunity for extended hours during the week and occasional Saturdays based on business needs)
