Gallatin Valley Surgery Center is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our team on a PRN basis. The PCT plays a vital role in supporting the surgical team and nursing staff by delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery setting. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with patient preparation and recovery in pre-op and post-op areas.
- Support nursing staff with vital signs, patient transport, and documentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of patient care areas, including room turnover.
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
- Monitor patient safety and comfort, including hourly rounding and observation.
- Assist with stocking supplies and maintaining equipment readiness.
- Uphold infection control and aseptic technique standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current BLS Certification
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends
Preferred:
- CNA certification
- Prior experience in a surgical or ambulatory care setting
- Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health records
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Demonstrates sound judgment and professionalism
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and patient needs
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and transport patients and equipment (up to 50 lbs)
- Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods
- Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
