Fleet Maintenance Service Writer / Shop Coordinator

We are looking for a Service Writer who knows trucks and wants to run a shop the right way. This is not a parts counter job — you will be the person who keeps the shop organized, trucks scheduled, and work orders clean.

If you have ever worked in a shop and thought “this place would run better if someone just organized it,” this is your role.

What You Will Do

• Create and manage work orders from start to close
• Prioritize incoming repairs: safety, operational, or scheduled
• Schedule preventive maintenance and coordinate with dispatch
• Make sure every work order has labor, parts, and a clear description before it closes
• Track DVIR defects and turn them into work orders
• Coordinate outside vendor repairs
• Complete a weekly maintenance report covering labor, parts, and costs
• Help build shop processes that keep things organized instead of reactive

What We Are Looking For

• Experience in a truck shop, dealership, or fleet maintenance environment
• You understand truck and trailer maintenance — you do not need to turn wrenches, but you need to know what the mechanics are doing
• Strong organization — you can juggle multiple open work orders without losing track
• Clear communicator who asks questions and flags problems early
• Computer skills for maintenance software and work orders

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
