Gallagher Fluid Seals, Inc. is a global distributor and manufacturer of Fluid Sealing products. Gallagher represents the strongest seal manufacturers in the world, in addition to operating its own gasket fabrication facility. Gallagher serves both OEM & MRO customers through the development of technical solutions that solve sealing challenges.
PURPOSE: This position is responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitoring accounts receivable summary for delinquency through related reports on a daily basis
- Researching and responding to all accounts receivable inquiries in a prompt manner.
- Initiating appropriate collection activity via past due notices, telephone, and email correspondence.
- Recommending accounts for collection escalation
- Processing customer credit applications
- Initiating, tracking, and maintaining all records/files associated with collection activities for each account.
- Perform daily bank account reconciliation, reconcile credit card statements
- Validate transactions related to our Payables or Receivables teams.
- Record monthly, quarterly, and annual Tax expense entries.
- Perform month-end closure tasks.
- Perform account and period reporting to financial leadership as needed.
- Perform general accounting team functions, data entry, analysis, and administrative duties as required.
- Maintaining accurate customer information in the database.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High School degree or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent a plus
- Minimum one year of accounting experience.
- Understanding of accounting basics.
- Possess the highest standards of accuracy and attention to detail in a dynamic, multitasking environment.
- Must possess the organizational skills needed to manage time well, prioritize effectively and handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude.
- Must be very computer savvy to work in multiple systems.
- Knowledge of the Prophet21 (P21) is preferred.
- Highly proficient in MS Excel and use of spreadsheets
- Skilled in MS Word and Outlook.
