Job Title: Life Enrichment Assistant
Reports To: Life Enrichment Director
Summary: The Life Enrichment Assistant works with the Life Enrichment Director to provide appropriate activities both in and out of the community. The Life Enrichment Assistant promotes resident well-being and satisfaction through support with recreational activities and communicates with other departments to ensure resident needs are met.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in the implementation of daily activities within the community guidelines and rules and regulations to promote resident well-being. At a minimum, activities must include group social activities, outdoor activities, spiritual programs, outreach programs, arts and crafts, exercise, music and drama, educational opportunities, and one-on-one interactions
- Take photos and submit to Marketing following various activities
- Under the leadership of immediate supervisor, assists with and supports the networking actions for retaining a volunteer base, maintaining a relationship with local businesses, organizations and schools
- Monitor resident activity, functional status, psychosocial status, reporting any resident change in condition to the appropriate designee
- Alert resident status changes and communicate these changes to Life Enrichment Director and Wellness Director
- Keep activity areas clean and organized
- Provide transportation to local medical facilities, shopping, church, voting, outings, and miscellaneous errands with the understanding that this position requires the ability to drive the community’s bus and any other vehicles
- Attend required staff meetings and complete all assigned annual trainings
- May be required to consent for the community to run an MVR report upon request anytime during employment
- Must immediately report any cited or ticketed driving infractions to the Life Enrichment Director or Executive Director
- Demonstrates proficiency & essential quality service standards pertaining to enriching resident centered activities and programming; partners with community team in striving for excellent quality care & service delivery
- Actively participates as a member of a team and committed to working toward team goals
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- One (1) year of related experience in senior living preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
- Exhibit good time management and organization skills
- Possess the ability to handle complex issues
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills
- Express compassion for residents, associates, and guests on a consistent basis
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Is willing to work flexible hours
- Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills
Working Conditions: Specific physical requirements are outlined in accordance with the American Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA)
