What are the responsibilities and job description for the Performance Test Engineer position at Galent?
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update performance testing strategies and design documentation
- Develop, execute, and optimize performance test scripts using Apache JMeter in Azure environments
- Simulate realistic load scenarios, including storm-based load patterns (minor, major, mega, rapid)
- Build and maintain reusable JMeter scripts aligned with existing frameworks
- Execute large-scale load, stress, endurance, and spike testing
- Analyze system performance metrics such as response time, throughput, CPU, memory, and network utilization
- Identify performance bottlenecks across application, database, middleware, and infrastructure layers
- Generate detailed performance reports, dashboards, and actionable insights
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to resolve performance issues
- Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines where applicable
- Support performance validation for enterprise-level releases
- Participate in capacity planning and performance benchmarking activities
Required Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in software testing, with at least 3 years in performance testing
- Strong hands-on experience with Apache JMeter, including: Test plan design, Script development and parameterization, Correlation and debugging & Distributed load testing
- Experience with Azure Load Testing and scripting using PowerShell
- Proficiency in data analysis using Excel, Excel Macros, or similar tools
- Experience testing high-volume, complex enterprise applications
- Strong understanding of: HTTP/REST APIs, Web services & Database performance concepts
- Experience with performance monitoring and APM tools such as: Dynatrace, AppDynamics & Splunk
- Ability to interpret performance metrics and diagnose system bottlenecks
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
