What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Adventure Camp Staff position at Galena Lodge?
In addition to generous wages, Galena Lodge provides:
A spectacular environment in which to work and play. Galena is an amazing place for those seeking winter or summer solitude, breathtaking mountain views, great people, and phenomenal skiing (backcountry and Nordic). There are also hiking and mountain biking trails right out the door. Galena Lodge is surrounded by 10,000 foot peaks that provide excellent opportunities for active individuals seeking adventure. Our impeccably groomed Nordic trails are considered some of the best in the nation.
Room and Board. Lodging is provided for full time staff only at no charge. Lodging consists of cabins, yurts, and lodge apartments.
Work schedules that allow for a balanced lifestyle and time for our staff to pursue outdoor activities.
Opportunities for summer and winter employment.
Shoulder seasons off for personal travel and relaxation.
Because we work and play together in a remote, communal setting it is important that we make a good match. The ideal applicant will possess a positive attitude, an ability to work well with others, independence (but be a team player), excellent customer service, self-motivation, honesty and integrity, and an eagerness to enjoy the outdoors and its sports. We encourage couples to apply. Please send resume to info@galenalodge.com .
Galena Lodge is looking for adventurous and fun candidates who enjoy working outdoors to become Youth Adventure Camp Counselors. Our adventure camp runs from early June to Mid August with additional hours for training and end of season cleanup. Camp counselors must have Wilderness First Aid and CPR certifications and Galena Lodge can train for lifeguarding. Camp activities that you will be leading include whitewater rafting (with a guide), horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, swimming, lake kayaking and orienteering. As a youth camp staff member, you will be spending 8 hours a day, Monday thru Friday, surrounded by energetic and eager 8-12 year olds with one overnight on Thursday. Camp counselors must demonstrate experience in working with youths and the outdoors, as well as an impeccable background of safety and responsibility.
