$10,000 Sign-on bonus for qualified full-time Certified Ultrasound Technicians.

This role has no on-call responsibilities and does not require working holidays or weekends.

Summary/Objective

The Hepatology Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality abdominal ultrasound examinations to support the diagnosis and management of patients under the direction and supervision of the Physician.

• Explains ultrasound procedures to the patient to obtain cooperation and reduce the patient's anxieties.
• Performs ultrasonic diagnostic procedures as directed by physicians.
• Schedules patients and explains procedures to assure cooperation and optimum test results.
• Positions patients safely and appropriately for imaging.
• Selects and operates appropriate ultrasonic transducers and image settings.
• Conducts scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment.
• Moves the scanner over the specified body area and adjusts the equipment to focus.
• Produces hard copy or digital images for interpretation.
• Documents exam findings and technical information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Maintains, cleans, and cares for ultrasound equipment per manufacturer and clinic standards.
• Reviews preliminary technical findings with the interpreting physician.
• Calibrates or troubleshoots equipment, as needed.
• Update the patient’s ultrasound results in the procedure history in the EMR.

• Orders and stocks all ultrasound supplies.
• Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
• Attend regular staff meetings and in-services as directed.
• Consistently demonstrate the value of the team concept.

Education

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• An associate degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or completion of an accredited ultrasound technology program is preferred.
• ARDMS or ARRT certification required.
  
  

Experience

• 1-3 years of previous experience performing abdominal ultrasound in a clinical or hospital setting required.
