Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure all items meet sanitation standards and regulations
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and transporting used dishware to the dishwashing area
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing station and surrounding kitchen areas by regularly sanitizing surfaces and equipment
- Handle manual lifting of heavy pots, pans, and boxes safely in accordance with kitchen health and safety standards
- Adhere to all food safety management protocols to prevent contamination and ensure a hygienic environment
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with food handling, sanitation practices, and kitchen equipment operation is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during busy service hours
- Knowledge of kitchen health and safety standards, including proper knife skills and sanitation procedures
- Experience with banquet or large-scale food service operations is a plus but not mandatory
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting culinary staff in high-pressure situations
