The Job
Our client is seeking a Head of Production to oversee operations in an explosives manufacturing startup. This role is pivotal in ensuring safety, compliance, and delivery performance while scaling processes to meet customer and regulatory demands. Functions
- Operations: Direct daily production of energetic materials; enforce ATF, OSHA, DOT, and DoD compliance.
- Leadership: Supervise and mentor production staff; instill a safety-first culture.
- Quality: Maintain ISO/MIL-SPEC standards; oversee audits and inspections.
- Improvement: Implement lean practices to reduce lead time and increase throughput.
- Risk Management: Conduct hazard analyses and ensure emergency readiness.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 4 years in manufacturing leadership, with 4 years in explosives or hazardous chemical production and/or hazardous environments.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Industrial Management (advanced degree preferred).
- Skills: Strong regulatory expertise, lean manufacturing knowledge, leadership, and communication skills.
- Preferred Certifications: Explosives Handler License, Lean Six Sigma, Safety Management.
