Youth Flag Football Coach – Galaxy Sports Job Overview
Galaxy Sports is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Youth Flag Football Coach to help create "An Experience Out of This World!" As a coach, you'll inspire young athletes while teaching the fundamentals of flag football in a fun, positive, and structured environment.
This paid coaching position is perfect for individuals who enjoy working with children, have a passion for sports, and want to make a lasting impact on young athletes. Our coaches focus on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence, and ensuring that every child plays, learns, and has fun.
This position primarily takes place on weekend mornings, with opportunities for additional weekday coaching hours as Galaxy Sports continues to grow.
Responsibilities
- Lead organized flag football practices and games for children ages 4–12.
- Teach football fundamentals including passing, catching, handoffs, route running, flag pulling, defensive positioning, and teamwork.
- Create a positive, encouraging, and energetic atmosphere where every child feels included.
- Plan age-appropriate drills and activities that develop athletic skills while keeping players engaged.
- Ensure the safety of all participants by following Galaxy Sports safety policies and procedures.
- Set up and take down equipment before and after each session.
- Communicate professionally with parents regarding schedules, player development, and program updates.
- Encourage good sportsmanship, respect, teamwork, and confidence both on and off the field.
- Work closely with fellow coaches and Galaxy Sports staff to provide a first-class experience for every family.
- Represent Galaxy Sports with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
Qualifications
- Previous coaching, playing, or officiating experience in flag football or football is preferred.
- Experience coaching youth sports, teaching, camps, daycare, or physical education is a plus.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- High-energy personality with the ability to motivate and engage young athletes.
- Reliable transportation to local program locations.
- Must be available to work weekend mornings.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
