About us
Galapagos Boutique has been in Charlestown for 30 years. We carry elevated women’s and men’s clothing, shoes, and jewelry. The owner runs the shop and has built a clientele who’ve shopped with her for decades. You’d work alongside her, not just report to her.
What you’ll actually do
- Run the register (QuickBooks POS, barcode-based, almost all credit cards, easy to learn)
- Fold, organize, and arrange merchandise on the floor
- Unpack, steam, and price new arrivals
- Keep the floor, fitting rooms, and displays looking the way they should
- Greet every customer warmly

Who we’re looking for

- Early is on time. On time is late.
- You’re warm with customers. A real smile.
- You notice details. Folded stacks, straight displays, nothing out of place.
A few honest things. This isn’t the right job if:
- You can’t be five minutes early, every shift
- Weekends don’t work for you at all
- You need someone over your shoulder telling you what’s next
- You don’t have reliable transportation (we’re rural, and there’s no bus)
- You’re looking for a place to hide on your phone between customers
Schedule and logistics
- Open Wednesday through Monday, 10 am to 5 pm. Closed Tuesdays.
- Part-time or full-time. We’re flexible on days and hours and will build the schedule around the right person. Some weekend shifts are part of the mix.
- Start as soon as possible.
- Reliable personal transportation required. Realistic commute: 20 to 30 minutes (Westerly, Narragansett, South Kingstown, and nearby).
Pay
Part-time: $18 to $21 an hour, based on experience, plus an employee discount.
Full-time: $18 to $26 an hour, based on experience. After one year: vacation accrual, PTO, and eligibility for company-sponsored healthcare and 401(k).
