Gainwell seeks a financial individual with medical claims processing knowledge to work with our small team of analysts. The Medicaid Financial Analyst role requires a person with strong business and analytical problem-solving skills. The Financial Analyst is responsible for compiling, creating, and delivering various financial reports, on a daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual cycles. Our Financial Analyst is a primary liaison with the State of Vermont and the Green Mountain Care Provider Community, receiving and processing transaction requests as well as answering questions on details behind a wide variety of financial reports. Our analyst enters various transactions including payables, receivables, bank stop payments, and reissues.

Your role in our mission
- Interacts regularly with the State of Vermont, healthcare providers, claims processing, and customer service departments.
- Collaborates as part of a team that supports one another, rotating and cross-training on various responsibilities.
- Provides a full range of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions in support of Green Mountain Care healthcare programs.
- Completes daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting, including daily receipts and bank deposits.
- Supports Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) site reviews and manages claims and data reconciliation for Carved-In 340B participating Vermont Medicaid providers.
- Associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; healthcare industry experience preferred.
- Strong business, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn quickly.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with financial reporting, supported by strong mathematical and Excel proficiency.
- Exceptional attention to detail, including the ability to independently QA/QC one’s own work.
- The position is Hybrid.
- 100% onsite for first several weeks for training, then 2-3 in office/WFH.
