We are seeking a skilled Total Loss Adjuster to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and negotiating fair and prompt claim settlements for total loss auto claims. You will work directly with insureds, claimants, lienholders, and legal representatives to resolve claims while ensuring compliance with company policies and state regulations.

We are seeking a skilled Total Loss Adjuster to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and negotiating fair and prompt claim settlements for total loss auto claims. You will work directly with insureds, claimants, lienholders, and legal representatives to resolve claims while ensuring compliance with company policies and state regulations.
What does a TOTAL LOSS CLAIMS ADJUSTER do at GAINSCO?
- Evaluate and negotiate total loss settlements with insureds and claimants.
- Manage vehicle rentals and coordinate the movement of vehicles to storage-free locations.
- Obtain state-mandated paperwork and documentation from lienholders or other interested parties.
- Ensure all necessary documents are gathered to finalize settlements.
Education:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- To perform the essential functions of this job an active Adjuster License will be required to comply with state and GAINSCO requirements.
- Upon hire, additional license(s) may be required. If that is the case, license(s) must be obtained.
- All licenses must be maintained in accordance with state requirements.
- 1 year or more of experience in adjusting auto claims is required.
- Previous experience in total loss claims is preferred.
- Understanding of auto coverage for non-standard auto insurance claims is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to manage time while prioritizing multiple tasks.
- Ability to remain calm when dealing with difficult customers.
- Effective negotiating skills.
- Ability to gather and analyze information in order to evaluate results and choose the best solution to the problem.
- Occasional weekend work may be required.
