We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Mailroom Machine Operator. As a crucial member of our organization, you will assist in the day-to-day operation of our fast-paced mailroom. This role manages daily mailroom operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of outbound mail while maintaining compliance with USPS regulations.

What does a MAILROOM MACHINE OPERATOR do at GAINSCO?

• Operate and monitor mail insertion machines; troubleshot and clear jams as needed.
• Prepare outbound mail by printing, folding, inserting, sealing, and applying postage.
• Ensure all mail meets USPS standards and completes required documentation.
• Collect, sort, and distribute incoming mail; manage outgoing mail and weigh packages for postage.
• Handle sensitive materials and maintain workflow efficiency.
• Lift, load, and unload containers of mail or parcels.
• Manage deliveries from FedEx, USPS, and UPS.
• Maintain inventory of forms, envelopes, and paper.
• Assist with ad hoc mailings, overnight packages, and certified mail.
• Interpret postal statements and work with outbound mail vendors.
  
  

What is required?

Education:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  
  

Experience:

• 1 year of general office experience.
• 1 year operating mailroom equipment and working in mailroom operations.
• Knowledge of USPS rules and regulations required.
• Knowledge of print and mail production processes is required.
• Strong organization and time management skills required.
• Experience with Pitney Bowes mailing equipment strongly preferred.
• Strongly preferred familiarity with mailroom inserting equipment: Pitney Bowes Rival, Tabletop Inserter, and Connect Plus Meter machine.
  
  

Other skills and abilities:

• May be required to lift, push, or pull material up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk throughout the whole workday.
• Ability to work various shifts or schedules based on business needs.
• Overtime may be required, along with working Saturdays.

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
