- Completing independent investigations which may include obtaining, verifying, and/or validating evidence related to cases
- Locating and interviewing witnesses
- Conducting interviews, preparing statements, and analyzing data
- Visiting, recording, and photographing/diagraming crime scenes
- Assisting with evidence preparation for trial
- Serving subpoenas which may include victim/witness transportation
- Appearing as a witness and testifying at trials if needed.
- Many other duties as required.
Qualifications- Associates degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, sociology, legal studies, or other relevant field with at least one (1) year of law enforcement experience, is required; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Must possess valid Michigan driver’s license and have access to transportation for the performance of job duties.
