Estimators must aggressively follow up with subcontractors to ensure that bids are received. Estimators also work with the Project Management teams to follow up on bids and budgets to close the business.Duties/Responsibilities:Complete accurate take-offs, prepare estimates based on the bid schedule and direction from the lead estimator, and quote jobs on time with assistance from sales.Helps to maintain a "jobs to bid report" and a "follow up" report, attends the weekly sales meeting.Communicate regularly with sales, customers, and specifiers to confirm and clarify project scope and specifications prior to completing the estimate.Prepares prints, quotes, and RFQs (requests for quotes) for potential customers.Responsible for compiling estimates of how much it will cost to provide a client or potential client with products or services.Assessing material, labor, and equipment required and analyzing different quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.Performs other duties as assignedRequired Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.Proficient in the company operating system software (Titan)Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Physical Requirements: This is a largely sedentary role which frequently requires one to stand and walk.Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, distant vision, and color vision.
