About the Role:
The Gaines Chamber of Commerce is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and community-minded leader to serve as our Executive Director. In this capacity, you will serve as the principal administrator for the Chamber, responsible for guiding the organization’s strategic vision, overseeing daily operations, and acting as the primary advocate for our local business community. This role is designed for a professional who excels at building functional partnerships and possesses the technical skills to manage modern organizational tools.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute strategic plans to increase the Chamber’s community impact and ensure long-term growth.
- Collaborative Management: Work in a close, collaborative effort with the Executive Associate to ensure seamless office operations and project execution.
- Membership & CRM: Spearhead recruitment and retention efforts; maintain and optimize the CRM database to track member engagement and provide high-value services.
- Event Management: Plan and facilitate signature community events, including networking mixers, business seminars, quarterly luncheons, and community events/festivals.
- Advocacy: Represent the Chamber in public forums and media engagements; stay informed on local, state, and federal policies affecting small businesses.
- Financial Oversight: Manage the annual budget and ensure total transparency in financial reporting to the Board of Directors.
Qualifications & Technical Skills
Leadership: Experience in a nonprofit, Chamber of Commerce, or business development environment.
- Software Proficiency:
- - Expertise in Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendar).
- - Experience managing and leveraging CRM systems for membership.
- - Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication: Exceptional public speaking, writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines, large-scale events, and fundraising campaigns simultaneously.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.
