Summary Description
The ideal candidate will support the full scope of Human Resources responsibilities including recruitment, pay administration, employee relations and development, benefit administration, company culture activities, etc. They will maintain and enhance the organization's human resources by partnering with the organization on strategic initiatives, as well as planning, implementing, and evaluating human resources policies, programs, and practices, while ensuring compliance with labor laws.
Principal Responsibilities
- Provide advice and guidance to employees and management on performance issues, conflict management, employment/benefit policies, etc.
- Manage employee relations, performance management systems, and conflict resolution processes, conducting thorough investigations when required.
- Manage the recruiting process, including employee onboarding and off boarding.
- Support current and future business needs through the creation and implementation of skill assessments and training and development programs.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws/regulations, and recommend best practices to senior management.
- Benefits administration with the support of our brokers (medical, dental, vision, life/disability, retirement plans, etc.)
- Lead the annual benefit renewal process (including open enrollment)
- Provide support for the property/casualty insurance renewals.
- Manage compensation and payroll functions for U.S., Canada and UK entities.
- Lead company communications on various Human Resources and other corporate topics
- Coordinate/manage corporate events and employee appreciation/recognition items
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources related field
- 5 years' of related work experience in Human Resources, preferably in a corporate setting, existing management experience a plus
- Previous benefit administration experience
- Payroll experience or strong understanding of payroll
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strict confidentiality
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills
- High level of emotional intelligence with experience in conflict resolution
- Attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- General proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of current U.S. Labor Laws
- Ability to work with and manage various consultant and legal relationships,
- International Human Resources experience a plus
