Role Description This full-time on-site role, based in Hanford, CA, is for a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who will provide direct pediatric patient care. Daily responsibilities include performing comprehensive and problem-focused exams, managing common acute and chronic conditions, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing treatment plans under established protocols and collaborating physician guidance. The clinician will provide well-child visits, immunizations, developmental screenings, and health education to patients and caregivers. Additional duties include triaging same-day and urgent concerns, documenting encounters in the electronic health record, coordinating referrals, and participating in care team meetings. The role also involves maintaining current clinical knowledge, adhering to quality and safety standards, and contributing to a positive, family-friendly clinic environment.
Qualifications
- Current licensure and certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, with demonstrated experience in pediatric primary care or family practice.
- Clinical proficiency in Nursing and Medicine, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of common pediatric conditions.
- Experience in Primary Care settings with skills in preventive care, chronic disease management, and family-centered education.
- Ability to provide Urgent Care for pediatric patients, including same-day visits for acute illnesses and minor injuries.
- Graduate degree from an accredited NP or PA program; active state license in California (or ability to obtain), DEA registration, and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications as required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with children, adolescents, and caregivers from diverse backgrounds.
- Comfort working in a collaborative, team-based environment and using electronic health records efficiently.
- Prior outpatient pediatric or family practice experience not required; Spanish language skills are a plus but not required.
