Job Summary:

The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for various construction projects. This role involves analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine the overall cost of a project. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of construction processes and materials.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Reviews documents, consults design professionals and determines existing conditions to thoroughly cover project scope.

·        Identifies cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts.

·        Work with subcontractors to obtain pricing, level subcontractor pricing and fill any holes necessary to provide a complete proposal.

·        Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work; preparing bids; selecting vendors or subcontractors; and determining cost effectiveness.

·        Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.

·        Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to gather essential project information.

·        Identify and quantify all cost factors, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.

·        Prepare and present cost estimates and budgets to clients and stakeholders.

·        Monitor and update estimates as project details change.

·        Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and tender documents.

·        Conduct site visits to gather information and assess project conditions.

·        Maintain a database of historical cost data for reference in future projects.

·        Stay updated on industry trends, construction methods, and material costs.

·        Ensure all estimates are accurate, comprehensive, and completed on time.

Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

·        Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar role.

·        Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost estimation techniques.

·        Proficiency in industry software and tools – AutoDesk, BuildingConnected, Bluebeam, OST, Smartsheet, Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Project and any other applicable software.

·        Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.

·        Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

·        Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

·        Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·        Strong organizational and time management skills.
