Gage is seeking a skilled Estimator in the Austin, Texas. This role requires strong cross functional leadership and hands-on experience.
Responsibilities:
Develops, edits, and manages the sales budget, sales proposal, change order(s) budget, and change order documentation throughout the life cycle of the opportunity and project.
Completes needed onsite/plan take-offs to gather quantities and build budgets
Analyzes required documents, blueprints, and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of each project
Sources and/or contacts subcontractors and suppliers via email, phone, or through construction software to gather accurate pricing for each estimate
Builds and reviews each project estimate (and change order estimate) in our construction software platform
Builds each opportunity’s sales proposal (and change order proposal) using the Gage Commercial Construction template
Reviews each estimate and proposal with key internal stakeholders, including Senior Leadership for each sales opportunity
Leads Pre-Estimating meetings with Sales and Production teams, to ensure all departments agree on how to move forward with an estimate, balancing project scope and customer expectations
Participates in project Postmortems to assist in updating historical costs associated with current and future projects
Ability to work and lead cross functionally across the Sales and Production departments
Accountability to deliver budgets and proposals on-time and often with tight deadlines
Requirements:
4-year college degree in related field
5 years of estimating experience in the construction industry
Xactimate software experience- Level I certification a plus
Experience with software programs that streamline work; PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Sage Estimating, etc.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
Proficient with spreadsheets and database management (ex: Excel)
Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
Exceptional time management skills
