Team Summary
The Product Management organization is undergoing a strategic redesign to drive enhanced innovation and profitable market share expansion. This newly created role reports directly to the Chief Product Officer and operates with a broad scope across Residential and Commercial/Siplast business units (BUs). This role will largely focus “on the front of the funnel” and closely partner with product managers across all BUs to build a robust pipeline of market backed ideas, drive early stage prioritization, and build out the value hypothesis/business case(s) for strategic new product innovations (NPIs) and services.
This position is based in our Parsippany, NJ corporate headquarters which currently operates on a hybrid in-office schedule. Though employees are welcome to work in our office on Friday, this position must be performed in-office on Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely from the employee's home office on Friday.
Essential Duties
- Strategic Innovation & Market Expansion
• Lead the identification and assessment of early-stage innovation programs and market adjacencies to drive growth; including the plans, protocols, and best practices to both assess and effectively penetrate priority markets
• Develop standard forums to gain alignment from executive leaders on go-to-market strategies targeting new priority markets; and to track sales and profit growth performance against documented targets and assumptions
• Collaborate across Residential, Commercial, and Siplast teams to identify cross-BU opportunities and synergies.
• Partner with Standard Industries M&A team to support commercial due diligence for potential acquisitions or joint ventures. - Business Case Development & Lifecycle Management
• Develop comprehensive business cases for early-stage innovation programs, including target market assessment, customer value proposition, financial modeling, ROI analysis, risk analysis, and investment/resource requirements
• Assist in the development of "go forward" strategies for specialized product lines, supporting key "go/no-go" and insource/outsource decision-making processes
• In partnership with product and R&D leaders, oversee the translation of field insights and market trends into actionable product improvements and new product concepts
• Monitor competitive technical trends and identify opportunities for application within the roofing marketplace
• Leverage the stage-gate methodology to effectively execute hand-offs between business development, product management, R&D, and, manufacturing to ensure seamless transition of new programs from shaping/analysis to development/validation and through to commercialization
• Establish standard protocols for Sales and Marketing support for new ventures or adjacencies, including specialization, interaction with core sales teams, and incentive planning - Leadership & Talent Development
• Foster a culture of accountability, analytical rigor, innovation and customer-centricity
• Instill across the broader product organization, an ability to shape and analyze product innovation ideas while balancing risk, investment and reward
• Act as a strategic thinker and sounding board resource for the broader Product team
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline.
- 12–15 years of progressive leadership experience in R&D, marketing, technical sales, product management, and business development across the broader chemicals/plastics industry
- Leadership: Proven track record of managing business building responsibilities and leading cross-functional teams.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to executive stakeholders and customers.
- MBA or advanced degree in a technical field.
- Established relationships within the architectural, engineering, and consultant communities.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with SAP/Vendavo or similar pricing and analytics platforms.
Base salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Individual compensation offers will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant candidate experience and skill, education, and/or qualifications.
Base Salary Range: $172,000-$236,500
