What are the responsibilities and job description for the Innovation Solutions Intern position at GACC WEST – Representative of German Business?
The not-for-profit organization Representative of German Business (RGB) is part of the worldwide network of the German Chambers of Commerce abroad. It supports the economic interests of German companies in the US and pursues the mission to connect stakeholders and ideas in key industries, empower innovation journeys, and create economic opportunities for the transatlantic community on topics such as renewable energy, cleantech, or mobility.
RGB’s Innovation Solutions Team supports and advises small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) on all issues relating to US market entry and expansion, as well as facilitates innovation journeys. Examples of projects are one-week startup bootcamp programs to transfer Silicon Valley mindset and knowledge to German founders; one-week delegations supported by the German Federal Ministry for SMEs from advanced industries like biotechnology, civil aviation, and offshore wind to connect with potential customers and local stakeholders; and supporting economic developers and state delegations with customized programs to suit their specific needs. All our programs aim to foster innovation management and innovation transfer between the Western US and Germany.
As an Intern in the Innovation Solutions department, you will be deeply involved in various projects and gain first-hand experience of the workings of a transatlantic business organization.
You will:
- Support with B2B-Matchmaking with business, innovation, and sales partners in the US for German clients
- Write reports, project proposals, and industry-specific market studies of the US market for German companies, published by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE)
- Support in establishing business partnerships between German and American companie
- Potential business travel with German delegations, and gain deep insights into our innovation programs
- Intensify contacts with German and American business partners via phone and email
- Assist in the development of market entry strategies and consulting for various clients
- Support the team in the daily administrative work
Abilities you should bring to our team:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in international business, Economics, Entrepreneurship, or a related field, master’s degree desired
- A good understanding of business concepts and experience in conducting market analysis
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in German and English
- Passion for connecting people and facilitating win-wins
- Proven ability to work well under pressure as well as adapt to change quickly while maintaining a positive attitude
- A sustainability hero with interest in cleantech, renewable energies, and mobility
- Attention to detail, thoroughness, and a high level of accountability

- Monthly salary of $3.273.69
