We’re recruiting for a Construction Project Manager opportunity in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Our client is open to both Project Manager and Senior Project Manager level candidates, depending on experience. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates interested in moving to the Fort Wayne area.
This is a growth-related opportunity with an established design-build construction firm focused on commercial and industrial projects, including educational facilities, churches, and other non-residential construction. Residential construction experience alone will not be a fit.
The Project Manager will oversee construction projects from planning through completion, working closely with clients, field leadership, subcontractors, and internal teams to deliver safe, high-quality work on schedule and within budget.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage commercial and industrial construction projects from kickoff through closeout
- Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, superintendents, field teams, and internal leadership
- Build and manage schedules, budgets, change orders, billing documents, and project records
- Review plans, contracts, scopes of work, specifications, and project requirements
- Lead meetings, communicate updates, resolve issues, and maintain project momentum
- Track job costs, subcontractor performance, safety, quality, and compliance
- Support team development through delegation, communication, and accountability
Qualifications include:
- Hands-on commercial or industrial construction project management experience
- Experience with a commercial design-build contractor strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of construction methods, schedules, budgets, and documentation
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, scopes, specifications, and contracts
- Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Adobe, Timberline/Sage, or similar tools preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Degree in construction management, engineering, civil engineering, or related field preferred
