We are searching for a patient-centered MRI Technologist to join a bustling Imaging Department in Syracuse, New York. Position Details:
Department: Imaging / Radiology
Location: Syracuse, NY
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM
Compensation: $38.60 – $53.00 per hour ($80,288 – $110,240 annually)
Key Responsibilities:
MRI Imaging & Patient Care
- Perform top-quality MRI procedures following physician orders and departmental protocols
- Prepare and position patients for MRI exams while ensuring comfort, safety, and clear communication throughout the process
- Verify imaging requests for accuracy and completeness
- Produce diagnostic images with efficiency and attention to detail
- Monitor patients during procedures and respond to their needs
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all MRI safety protocols, including thorough patient screening and equipment safety measures
- Maintain a safe environment within the MRI suite for patients, staff, and visitors
- Follow internal policies, state regulations, and accreditation standards
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with departmental and regulatory requirements
Systems, Equipment & Department Support
- Demonstrate proficiency with PACS, RIS, and EMR systems
- Check MRI equipment for proper function and report any issues promptly
- Perform routine quality assurance tasks and coordinate equipment maintenance as necessary
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas and imaging rooms
- Collaborate with radiologists, providers, nurses, and imaging staff for smooth department operations
- Perform additional assigned duties as needed
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
- Active ARRT certification required
- MRI certification required or eligibility to obtain
- Current licensure required
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
Preferred Qualifications
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
- 1-2 years of MRI experience preferred
- Experience in an outpatient imaging environment is a bonus
- Strong knowledge of MRI safety standards and patient screening protocols
- Excellent communication, organization, and patient care skills
