Controls Engineer, CNC Automation

We’re recruiting for two Controls Engineers to support a growing manufacturing operation in Columbus. You’ll work directly with production equipment, solve controls problems, and deliver improvements that increase uptime and efficiency.

What You’ll Do

• Program and troubleshoot Siemens PLC and CNC controls on automated machining equipment, including Heller CNC machines and Liebherr gantry systems.
• Diagnose electrical and automation issues using ladder logic, function block diagrams, STL, and equipment schematics.
• Implement equipment modifications, corrective actions, and controls improvements.
• Coordinate projects with maintenance, production, engineering, suppliers, and contractors.
  
  

What You’ll Bring

• A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field.
• Hands-on controls engineering experience with industrial or manufacturing equipment.
• Siemens STEP 7 and TIA Portal PLC programming experience.
• Experience with Siemens CNC controls, including Step-7 Powerline, Solutionline, and HMI Advanced.
• Ability to interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics and manage changing project priorities.
• Willingness to work the evening shift.
  
  

Experience with FANUC robotics, Cognex vision, Profibus, ProfiSafe, ASI-Bus, AutoCAD, or capital projects is helpful. Travel is minimal. Candidates with H-1B or TN status may be considered.
