What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Controller position at Gables Engineering?
We’re seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to help lead the financial operations of our manufacturing facility. In this role, you’ll be responsible for accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, effective cost management, while driving process improvements and automation initiatives—playing a key role in driving the profitability of our audio panel production.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA or CMA required
- 8 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- At least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience in a public company and/or public accounting environment
Skills That Will Set You Apart
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory control, and GAAP
- Proven ability to leverage ERP and data tools to analyze large datasets and improve processes
- Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights while supporting cross-functional teams
- Keen eye for inefficiencies for process improvement
- Experience preparing financial statements and required disclosures
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (IFS, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills; proficiency with Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Exposure to BI/data tools (Power BI, Alteryx, KNIME)
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to partner effectively with operations and senior leadership
