Role Description The Assistant Manager role at Gabe’s in Bear, DE is a full-time, on-site position supporting the daily operations of the store. This role assists in leading store associates, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining store standards, merchandising, and inventory presentation. The Assistant Manager helps oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling, loss prevention practices, and adherence to company policies. This position also supports scheduling, training, coaching, and performance feedback to foster a positive and productive team environment. The Assistant Manager partners closely with the Store Manager to achieve sales goals, manage priorities, and deliver an engaging in-store experience.
Qualifications
- Experience in retail or customer-facing environments, with strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team, including coaching, delegation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Basic knowledge of store operations such as cash handling, inventory processes, merchandising, and loss prevention.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with capacity to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Comfort working with point-of-sale systems and basic computer applications (e.g., email, scheduling tools, reporting systems).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to safely lift, move, or stock merchandise as needed.
