OVERVIEW
Gabby’S Gourmet Bagels is looking for a team member to assist in the Checkout Department at our Woodbury, NY location. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, work well under pressure, and is eager to learn more about the food service industry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
- Greet customers as they enter with a positive attitude.
- Use point of sale system to register customers, check their items against the list, collect payments, and prepare receipts.
- Use hand tools to clean equipment and stock rooms.
- Unload merchandise from trucks and place it in designated areas.
- Check inventory levels daily, sort items by importance, and store items in designated areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure.
- Able to stand for extended periods and to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
- Able to work in all weather conditions and weather extremes during the day (heated and cold).
- Able to work overtime as needed.
- Food handler status required or must be willing to obtain food handler status within 30 days of hire.
