What are the responsibilities and job description for the Semi Local Class A Delivery Driver position at GAATCO?
This position is an activity-based pay plan that encourages safety, efficiency and a strong work ethic.
Position Details
Driver will make deliveries of products in dry van and reefer trailers from the DC in Pueblo CO to customer sites in AZ, CA, CO, KS, NM, SD, TX, UT, and WY
Driver will not make any restaurant deliveries
At the receiver the driver will be required to offload product using an electric pallet jack and lift gates
Pallets can weigh anywhere from 500-2,500lbs
Driver must be physically capable of moving the pallets with an electric pallet jack
Schedule Details
Driver will work 5 consecutive days with 2 days off - Driver is required to work at least 1 weekend day - Start time: 9am - Driver will work a 14 hour day on average - Driver will layover in the truck an average of 2-3 nights per week - Thanksgiving and Christmas are not guaranteed off
Special Requirements:
Driver must be willing and able to chain as needed
Chaining occurs an average of 6-8 times per year
Driver must be comfortable running mountain routes all year round
Truck Info:
Automatic Freightliners and Internationals (Driver does not choose)
Slip seating is required
Trucks must remain at the account during time off
Job Details:
$0.46 - $0.50 per mile
Live stop pay: $15 per stop
Detention pay: $15 per hour
Safety training and miscellaneous work: $20 per hour
New hire training pay: $200 per day
Holiday pay: $200 per day
Drivers in this position over the last six to twelve months have achieved annualized earnings of $74,000
