Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Leasing Agent to join our property management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing leasing operations, fostering positive relationships with prospective and current tenants, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a thorough understanding of property leasing processes. The Leasing Agent will play a vital role in maintaining high occupancy rates and delivering exceptional customer service within our residential or commercial properties.
Responsibilities
- Greet prospective tenants and conduct property tours, highlighting features and benefits to facilitate leasing decisions
- Manage the application process, including screening applicants, verifying references, and processing lease agreements
- Maintain accurate records of leasing activities using property management software such as Appfolio
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations, Section 8 guidelines, LIHTC requirements, and other legal standards
- Handle lease negotiations, contract preparation, and renewal processes with professionalism and attention to detail
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to address property issues and ensure units are move-in ready
- Conduct regular follow-ups with prospects and current tenants to foster positive relationships and upsell available units or amenities
- Assist in marketing efforts by promoting properties through various channels and maintaining a compelling online presence
- Maintain knowledge of landlord-tenant law, Section 8 programs, and other relevant legal administrative practices
- Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, managing customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and handling phone inquiries with professionalism
Requirements
- Proven experience in property management, leasing, or real estate administrative roles; experience with LIHTC, Section 8, or Fair Housing regulations is highly desirable
- Proficiency in property management software such as Yardi, OneSite, or CMMS systems or Appfolio
- Strong understanding of landlord-tenant law, contracts, negotiation techniques, and legal compliance standards
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle conflict management effectively
- Office experience including data entry, filing, phone etiquette, and administrative support functions
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal; ability to upsell units or amenities tactfully
- Valid administrative or real estate license preferred; valid driver’s license may be required for property tours or inspections
- Professional appearance and demeanor with a focus on customer relationship management and facilities management principles
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
